War on Christmas... So What?

There is a very real war on Christmas. Atheists are fighting year 'round to remove nativity scenes from public view and Christmas trees are being renamed to "Holliday trees." Stores around the country are shunning "Christmas" for "Hollidays" and it has more than half the country upset.

Mostly conservatives are the ones getting rubbed raw by the atheist attack on Christmas. While I can absolutely u
nderstand the frustration by Christians and conservatives, I have a tough time getting so riled up about it. Christians get so caught up in tradition without realizing WHY they do some of the things they do. There is nothing in the bible that says absolutely when Christ was born. Before fighting FOR something, we should all start doing our own research into what it is that we ACTUALLY believe.

The way our society is today, we basically have been put in a position where we as a people only have two choices to any one particular issue. Why do you believe what you believe? Do you HONESTLY know? Why are you upset about a Christmas tree? Do you know where that tradition came from? Why do you celebrate Christ's birth during the winter solstice and on the same day so many pagan sun gods are celebrated? There is SO much about our beliefs that we just take at face value because of "tradition" without truly understanding WHY we actually believe them. There are things in our lives that would absolutely change if we actually got to the roots.

If you claim to be a Christian, do yourself a favor and understand what it is that you truly believe and why instead of blindly fighting for something just because you think you should. Differentiate yourself from those you argue with and those you fight against and truly understand WHY you are taking a particular position instead of just repeating talking points spoon fed to you by the media, social media, and even your church. If you TRULY CARE about your beliefs, don't take my word or anyone else's word. Do your OWN research and truly UNDERSTAND your point of view. That being said, Merry Christmas.
